Q. What is Ayurveda?

A: Ayurveda is an ancient Indian practice of health and wellness, and is the sister science to Yoga. Ayurveda is based on the 3 main body types: Vata, Pitta and Kapha. Through knowing your body type(s), you can heal yourself.

Q: What are the 6 Tastes?
A:
The 6 tastes of Ayurveda are distinct flavors (sweet, sour, salty, bitter, astringent, pungent). These 6 tastes affect each body type in a different way. For example, if you have the Kapha body type, too much sweet taste can make you feel lethargic, slow, and/or depressed. We can therefore use a different taste to help offset those feelings of heaviness.
